A cheerful parrot offers guests a warm welcome, inviting them in for a bird chat. Alejandro de Esesarte creates the charming image on a wall-mounted sculpture, hammering the piece into low relief. Painted by hand, its details are extraordinary.

The fiery sun welcomes the cool blue moon in an elegant eclipse designed by J. Blas. He crafts the extraordinary iron candleholder by hand from iron, featuring cut-out details that reveal the colors and textures of the wall behind. The t-light candle holder is placed on the back.

Capturing the tinkling melodies of the breeze, this set of wind chimes from Bali is designed by Trisna Dewi. She crafts the body by hand using bamboo, decorating it with a floral motif. Aluminum chimes dangle beneath.

The unique forms of benalu wood, related to the mistletoe, lend themselves to the original sculptures of Yudi Suardi. Here, benalu wood evokes a bird's nest, above which a mama bird warily guards her eggs. The bird is carved by hand from jempinis wood with a natural finish.

As each piece of benalu wood is one-of-a-kind, please expect the sculpture you receive to vary somewhat from the images.

Embracing the melody of nature, this unique wind chime from Bali is designed by Trisna Dewi. She crafts the bar by hand-carving patterns into bamboo. Aluminum chimes dangle from the body, which features an agel grass cord for hanging.

Artisans from the Angel Cerón Artisan Association replicate the vivid sculpture of a Maya woman, believed to be related to the cult of the goddess of weavers. The original dates circa 600 - 800 AD and was found in the Island of Jaina, off the coast of Campeche. "The Maya named this island Hanal, which means 'house of water' and turned it into a commercial center," the artisans explain. "Renamed Jaina by the Spanish, the island is now famous for its myriad Maya tombs filled with a variety of statuettes and utensils, as was their custom. The fact that the original sculpture portrayed a woman with an elaborate headdress and detailed garments suggests she represented a person from the aristocracy."

Slumbering peacefully, a man wearing a sombrero is depicted in this figurine by Mexican artisan Juana Ponce. She crafts the figurine from ceramic, featuring hand-painted designs and colorful floral motifs in the traditional style of Talavera handicrafts.

Handcrafted by Thai artisan Tiraphan Hasub, this exquisite beaded bracelet features five strands of gemstones and brass beads on brown polyester cord that culminate in a clasp of small brass bells. Brightly colored lapis lazuli, red jasper, dyed blue calcite, and composite turquoise create a striking contrast with the golden-colored brass, making this bracelet a magnificent accessory.

Woven by hand in shades of copper and black, this hammock holds the promise of sweet relaxation. Mexico's Maya Artists of the Yucatán preserve the weaving techniques inherited from their Maya ancestors to ensure the hammock tradition.

Long before the Spanish arrived upon the coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to sleep and rest in hammocks. They considered the hammock to be like the loving embrace of a mother, due to the comfortable manner in which the body is held and swung within its cradle. Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while also offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock. For them, the hammock is a work of art. Their hammocks are incredibly comfortable, easy to maintain, and may be stored just about anywhere.

Working near Singaraja, in the mountainous northern region of Bali, artisans collect naturally fallen branches and glean wood from the local coffee plantations to fashion these delicate, colorful wind chimes. Once the reclaimed wood — teak and coffee — is gathered, each piece is sorted by size and color before being hand-shaped and strung with pieces of cut glass. Dazzling in the sunlight, the resulting rainbow chime is a gorgeous example of nature-inspired design. Each piece will vary slightly, due to the natural variations of the wood.
