Los pájaros se posan sobre San Francisco, el venerable monje, y un perro moteado se sienta lealmente a sus rodillas. Símbolo de Guatemala, en su brazo se posa un espléndido pájaro quetzal verde. Jose Canil Ramos talla un encantador retrato del fundador de la orden franciscana. Francisco de Asís creía en la hermandad de toda la creación de Dios. Se dice que una vez predicó a cientos de pájaros acerca de estar agradecidos a Dios por sus maravillosas ropas, por su independencia y por el cuidado de Dios. Los pájaros se quedaron quietos mientras el santo caminaba entre él, y se alejaban volando sólo cuando él decía que podían irse.

El brazo y el pájaro son desmontables para protegerlos durante el envío.

“San Francisco s Patron Saint”

As a San Franciscan I wanted to add this santo to my collection of artworks from Jose Canil Ramos (Jocara). It is even more beautiful than the featured photo: Saint Francis has a beautiful soulful face.

“So precious!”

Amazing colorful sculpture! So unusual and different depiction of St. Francis. Very typical Guatemalan influence.I love that St. Francis is holding a Quetzal bird. Its so beautiful and quality is exceptional and adds so much to our home. We love animals and it really is a blessing to have this sculpture in our home. It shipped fast considering it came from Guatemala and was so beautifully packaged and wrapped. A worry doll came with it and it was so lovely. So worth the cost and I know this will be a treasured family heirloom to pass on for many years. Very happy with our purchase and thank you Jose for the art you create, Its amazing!

“I now want one for myself!”

I bought this for an animal-loving friend who is about to celebrate his milestone 60th. I always joked that he was a reincarnation of St. Francis and knew the search would be on for the perfect statuary as the day grew closer. I am an avid art collector and even have a home in Santa Fe where artists abound! This piece is absolutely stunning and beautifully painted. I am so pleased with the craftsmanship and artistry that I'd like to order one for my home in Santa Fe. I'll definitely be looking at other works he does. Thanks a million. My friend is going to love this!

“Love it!”
