Rodeada de flores, la Virgen de Guadalupe es la reina de los cielos. Apareció por primera vez en México en 1531 y, como prueba de su visita, hizo que florecieran rosas en el lugar. Nombrada Patrona de las Américas por el Papa Juan Pablo II, es una manifestación querida de la fe católica. Alejandro Chávez recrea el retrato que apareció milagrosamente en la tilma (manto de fibra de cactus) de San Juan Diego en 1531. Crea la imagen en un diorama tradicional conocido como retablo; cada figura está modelada y pintada a mano.
